Mission Statement

Who I am —

An Interactive Designer, Front-End Developer, illustrator, 2D animator, Motion-Graphics artist, part-time crafts-person, subway sketcher. Not quite a maven of the miscellany, more like a seeker of [design] solutions who uses her various experiences - professional, educational, and everything that falls in between - to approach a design problem from all possible angles.

Being a bit of a control-freak, I added Web Development to my menu of skills roughly 2.5 years ago. I like making sure my design is realized exactly as I envisioned it. Becoming a Web Developer seemed the most logical way to go about that.

Where I've been [What I've done] —

Taking the scenic route to Interactive Design and Development, I made pitstops in Political Science, 2D Animation, Illustration, and even briefly managed a DJ Record Pool in Philadelphia. While on-the-job training had its merits, I decided an education in design was in order, and in 2006 I received my MFA from Parsons' School of Design. Upon graduation I went to work for the Interactive Design company Square360 where I have had the honor of working on amazing projects, from the informational, such as Lenox Hill Hospital, to corporate sites such as CBRE, to fun sites such as NJREBEL and Mainstream Greenhome and the Sports Authority Animated banner ads. Each project presented its own design challenges and in turn, challenged me in my approach and execution.

Where I'm going [What I'm learning] —

Creativity is fluid and design solutions borrow from the world around us, both organic and digital. I am happiest when I can draw from the well spring of collective knowledge and create an item of perfect form and functionality.

At the moment, you inspire me. Someday I hope I can inspire you.
